Chicken BBQ Volunteers Needed
Now is the time to get your preferred slot to volunteer to work a shift (or two!) at the Woodstock Fair Chicken BBQ Booth on Labor Day weekend.
Opportunities are available from cleaning and setting up, to preparing food and cooking, and cleaning up at the end of the Fair.
Just click the “Volunteer” button and sign up for a shift or two cooking in the pit or working in the booth.
Our congregation has been cooking and selling barbecued chicken at the Woodstock Fair since 1956!
Over the years we have expanded to a booth at the South Gate of the Fairgrounds and have been preparing other delicious “fair food” in addition to cooking chicken. This effort has been one of our major fundraisers , on average raising $9,000 Labor Day weekend.
Working a shift at the Fair not only helps share the workload but it also provides church members and friends (yes, all are welcome to help at the Fair), the opportunity to socialize while working together to help raise funds to support our ministries of caring, compassion, service, and hope.
When you work a shift you will receive:
- a free pass to get into the Fair (you will just have to pay to park).
- a free Chicken BBQ tee shirt to wear at the Fair and
- a free meal from some of the food and drink we sell at the Fair.
If you have any questions contact John.
Thank you all for your help!
